In accordance with sec. 21 sub-section 1 of the WpHG we have received on
September 1st, 2008 the following notification from William Blair &
Company, LLC, Chicago, Illinois, USA, in its name and on its behalf:

We hereby give notice, pursuant to Section 21 (1) WpHG, that on 29 August
2008 our voting interest in Roth & Rau AG exceeded the threshold of 3% and
amounts to 3.04% (419,808 voting rights) on this day.

All of the above mentioned voting rights are attributable to William Blair& Company, LLC in accordance with Section 22, paragraph 1, sentence 1,
number 6, WpHG.
