LTX-Credence Corporation Added to Russell Indexes

MILPITAS, Calif., Sept. 5, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXC), a global provider of focused, cost-optimized ATE solutions, today announced its addition to the Russell 2000(r), Russell 2500(tm), Russell Small Cap Completeness(r) and Russell Microcap(r) indexes. LTX-Credence was added to these indexes after the equity markets closed on August 29 following the completion of the merger between LTX Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXX) and Credence Systems Corporation (Nasdaq:CMOS). Membership in the Russell 2000, 2500, Small Cap Completeness and Microcap indexes, which are reconstituted at the end of June each year, is based on membership in the broad-market Russell 3000(r) Index. The stock also was added systematically to the appropriate growth and value indexes.

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. An industry-leading $4.4 trillion in assets currently are benchmarked to them. These investment tools originated from Russell's multi-manager investment business in the early 1980s when the company saw the need for a more objective, market-driven set of benchmarks in order to evaluate outside investment managers.

Real-time market analysis on the Russell 2000 and other Russell Indexes is available at http://www.russell.com/Indexes/performance/real_time_market_analysis.asp. Although LTX-Credence Corporation has been added to the indexes noted, it will not appear on the online lists found on the Russell website as these lists are updated one time per year at the annual index reconstitution in June.
