Meet Carter, a Young Lady Struggling to Stay Out of Trouble -- New Book Follows the Exploits of a Lady Who Begins a New Life With a Foster Family After Getting Sentenced for the Crime She May or May Not Have Committed

LOVELAND, Colo., Sept. 5, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Starting a new life and a process of reformation can be very troubling, even to those who were granted a second chance. In the dramatic, new book, Music, Math and Carter's Guitar, author Karen Schumacher weaves an enduring story about one lady's struggle to stay out of trouble and redeem herself.

The text introduces readers to Carter, a young lady who grew up abandoned by her parents and lived with domestic trouble. The story begins when Carter moves in to live with a new family to serve the sentence the judge gave her in response to a crime she may or may not have committed. Although she won't be going to a juvenile prison, she feels very uncomfortable about starting a new life and misses her old friends. In just a few weeks however, conflicts with her classmates and her teachers increase when her precious guitar is taken away, and Carter's life spins out of control because of a secret she refuses to share with her foster family and her teachers. Is Carter destined to go to jail this time around or can she still redeem herself? Read the book to find out.
