About the Author

Sung Yol Yi was born in Korea in 1946, four years before the Korean War broke out. He lost both his parents during the war. He was raised and educated by his grandmother in Seoul. After he came to the United States in 1976, he attended California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension, where he studied English poetry. Currently, the poet resides in Los Angeles, writing and translating poetry and stories.
