Digia and Basware to provide integrated material and procurement services
system for the Hospital Districts of Southwest Finland and Satakunta

Digia has concluded a delivery agreement with Medbit Oy, an information
management company founded by the Hospital District of Southwest Finland. The
object of the agreement is an integrated material and procurement services
system including Microsoft Dynamics AX materials management, the Basware
Purchase Management system and Basware RFx electronic tendering system. Digia
will assemble these into a single system to be deployed in the summer of 2009,
with more than 2,000 users.

“This new project is a prime example of assessing systems based on customer
needs and carefully selecting the best possible components. Combined with
optimally selected partnerships, this approach ensures the delivery of the
appropriate holistic solution meeting the needs of the Hospital District of
Southwest Finland,” explains Arto Raudaskoski, Digia's Sales Director. “The
public sector needs up-to-date information systems and solutions. Our operating
model and partner network is perfectly suited for customer needs and enables us
to offer comprehensive service and solutions to the public sector, supporting
the national reform of the municipal and services structure”, continues
Raudaskoski.

Medbit Oy, an information management company founded and owned by the Hospital
District of Southwest Finland, began operating on 1 January 2008. Medbit's
mission is to provide development and user services for information systems,
thus supporting the operations of, and co-operation between, healthcare and
social services within the Hospital District of Southwest Finland.

“We seek to provide our customers with high-quality information systems, as
well as cost benefits and synergies from centralising their systems,” specifies
Jukka Markkanen, Medbit Oy's Managing Director.

“Microsoft Dynamics AX, with its value-adding and easy to integrate add-ons,
offers new and practical options for the public administration's system needs.
While the opportunities lying in components-based holistic solutions have been
understood in the private sector for some time, this new project clearly shows
that the integrated solution assembled by Digia, based on Microsoft Dynamics
AX, represents a highly competitive option in the public sector,” states Iikka
Lindroos, Dynamics Lead, Microsoft Oy.

“The new-generation holistic solution to be delivered to the hospital districts
will hugely enhance procurement processes and generate targeted savings,”
describes Jukka Virkkunen, Country Manager Finland, Basware Corporation.
