CMS Offers Upgraded and Advanced Monitoring for Alarm Dealers, Completes a Half-Million Dollar GE Software Project

Senior Vice President Named to Focus On Technology and Service Offerings

LONGWOOD, Fla., Sept. 10, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Criticom Monitoring Services (CMS), the largest wholesale monitoring company in the United States, today announced it has completed the upgrade of its monitoring platform to the best-in-class MASterMind version 6.22, enhancing service, functionality and efficiency for alarm dealers and the alarm operators who serve them.

Alarm dealers who partner with CMS now have access to and can promote the most up-to-date monitoring platform, backed by the dependability of GE Security. The entire account base at CMS now operates on MASterMind.

Tony Wilson, CMS president said, "With the successful conversion of over half a million subscriber accounts, we are pleased to offer our valued dealers a monitoring platform that delivers the experience and reliability of GE Security and Microsoft as well as improved customer relationship management applications, and greater access to and control of customer accounts via Web-based CMS Connect. Most important, we are excited to provide our dealers the technology and capabilities they need to offer an enhanced level of monitoring and service to their customers."

The upgraded platform also offers single-screen dispatch, allowing for improved operator productivity and accuracy, as well as additional open and close scheduling functionality. Using MASterMind, CMS operators enjoy an advanced set of tools based upon the latest developments in information technology and more precise information presented in an easy-to-understand fashion, ultimately improving service to subscribers.

Wilson said, "This upgrade is a critical step and was the largest hurdle toward CMS building the most advanced monitoring center network in the nation and offering an unsurpassed level of disaster recovery in our industry."

In addition, demonstrating the company's strong commitment to technology and enhanced service offerings for its dealers, Ron Carr has been named senior vice president of operations. In this newly created position, Carr will oversee all monitoring, operations support, dealer support, and information technology efforts for CMS nationwide. He has more than 25 years experience in the telecom and alarm monitoring industries, most recently serving as a consultant for RBCS Enterprise Corp. and RJC Consulting Services, where he managed numerous call center projects and improvements. In a consulting capacity, he oversaw the successful CMS facility move to Cypress, Calif., and also led the upgrade to MASterMind.

Previously, Carr also served as chief operating officer for Security Associates International and director of customer service operations and telecommunications for SecurityLink of Ameritech. His areas of expertise are business planning to increase revenues and profitability; implementing consistent and improved operational processes; and enhancing customer satisfaction.

"We are pleased to expand our team to include Ron and his substantial experience," Wilson concluded. "Working with Ron, our monitoring and IT teams successfully undertook the significant task of upgrading our platform. At the same time, we generated considerable growth in the last quarter, thanks to the success of our dealers as well as our business development and dealer support teams. We will continue to enhance our services so that our dealers can expand their businesses and offer the highest quality monitoring available."
