Save The World Technologies Announces Australian Forestry Initiatives

BRISBANE, Australia, Sept. 10, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Save The World Technologies Inc. (Other OTC:SWTG), an environmental technologies company, is pleased to announce its plans for the creation of future forests for Australia by creating large scale reforestation projects to provide ongoing bio sequestration of greenhouse gases and delivering sustainable supplies of timber for export and domestic use.

Save The World Technologies' "Super Kiri Tree", produced through our advanced cloning and proprietary growing matrix, will be used to create the reforestation.

The primary target for planting sites is the rehabilitation of existing and future coal mines. The reforestation rehabilitation provides a positive environmental impact in place of what would normally be seen as a "not so green" land use.

Queensland has been selected, as it contains a large proportion of Australia's coal mines. Many mines are contractually obligated to provide rehabilitation through the planting of trees, shrubs and grasses. Our solution provides for both rehabilitation and the creation of a renewable resource.

"One mining group we are working with must rehabilitate 300,000 acres over the next 35 years. We are targeting to commence the rehabilitation program of 10,000 acres per year, which includes up to 10 million trees per year," said Martin Tindall, CEO. "With our Super Kiri Tree, this will provide an estimated 4.5 million cubic metres of timber for export every 7 years combined with the bio sequestration of over 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.

"As we target further mines and start working with various Australian Government bodies for export and other opportunities, we aim to see our Australian operation become a significant player in the positive environmental future for Australia."

Save The World Technologies is seeking further contacts within the mining industry and other significant landholders. To discuss the opportunities to create a mutually profitable and environmentally sustainable future for your land, please contact our team.

The Super Kiri Tree was developed by the company to provide an alternative to the continual depletion of our natural resources and old forests. Following each Super Kiri Tree plantation harvesting, the tree re-grows from the stump and root structure, creating a renewable resource.

Our solution creates fast growing reforestation projects, which provide large positive environmental impact through delivering fast growing timber, large greenhouse gas sequestration (absorption) and diverse usage post harvesting.

Current project targets include the use of younger trees in continual cyclic harvesting for biofuel projects, coal mine site rehabilitation and large timber supplies to a wide range of industries.
