Net Insight, Panasonic, TeliaSonera International Carrier and DVS Deliver

Uncompressed 1080p video to be streamed live over public switched
network for first time in history

AMSTERDAM - Sept. 15, 2008 - Net Insight, a leading provider of
efficient optical transport solutions for media, broadcast and IP
networks, has partnered with TeliaSonera International Carrier,
Panasonic and DVS to deliver a first-of-its-kind demo at Net
Insight's booth (1.A21) at IBC 2008, where uncompressed 1080p video
will be streamed live over TeliaSonera International Carrier's
switched media network straight to the IBC show floor.

The leading-edge demonstration is yet another example of how the Net
Insight Nimbra platform transports and enables the most advanced
video applications.

The demo will combine Net Insight's 8 x 3 Gbps Video Access Module,
DVS' high-capacity Pronto3 disc recorder, TeliaSonera's International
Carrier's media network and Panasonic's 103" 1080p plasma display to
deliver true 1080p video quality. 1080p @ 50 Hz video material stored
on DVS' disc recorder will be streamed to the 103" Panasonic display
at the show. Net Insight's 3 Gbps Video Module enables transport of
uncompressed 1080p HD video in studio and contribution networks with
100 percent quality of service (QoS) guaranteed."While 1080p offers a much higher picture quality than 1080i, most
broadcast and contribution networks today are unable to transport
1080p HD resolution due to limited transport bandwidth at acceptable
QoS levels," said Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight. "Unlike other
solutions offering only point-to-point 1080p distribution, the Net
Insight 8 x 3 Gbps Video Access Module enables routing and
multicasting of 3Gbps SDI services in any network topology."

Due to rising end-user demand for ultimate HD quality, many within
the broadcast industry are poised to deliver 1080p quality to
end-users. However, the inability to find reliable, quality network
transmission has become a roadblock for 1080p deployment. With Net
Insight, broadcasters can effectively transmit 1080p quality without
jitter, delay or latency, allowing broadcasters to realize the true
potential of 1080p delivery."We work closely with our customers to enable the highest possible
quality media experience," said Jonathan Wood, head of Media
Services, TeliaSonera International Carrier. "Having a media network
that is specifically designed to reliably transport real-time 1080p
HDTV gives us an advantage in the industry.""Participating in a demonstration of this caliber allows us to
showcase our optimized feature set which makes high-definition
content management efficient and user-friendly at any video
capacity," said Oliver Grappa, sales and marketing director at DVS."We strive to maintain a leading edge in the industry by providing
the most capable displays suitable for HD content including 1080p,"
said John Anderson, European technical manager of Panasonic's
Professional Display team. "Working with other industry leaders to
bring this first-time demonstration to IBC sets a new bar for the
capabilities we can accomplish."
