FINNAIR OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 16.9.2008 Finnair's statutory employer-employee negotiations under the Act on Co-Determination within Undertakings, which continued today, did not reach an agreement on the cutting of personnel costs. All of the personnel organisations did not accept the employer's proposals on cost-cutting measures, by which 400 job cuts would have been avoided. “It's a real pity that we will have to cut costs by reducing jobs. For all parties it would have been better to find savings by other means” says Finnair's Senior Vice President, Human Resources Anssi Komulainen. In the negotiations, the personnel organisations were presented at the beginning of September with three options aimed at achieving a cost-cutting target of 25 million euros. The employer-employee negotiations over other possible cost cutting measures continue during this week.
