America's Ugly Beast Reaches Rock Bottom -- A Witty Novel About the Nation's Political, Economic & Social Crisis

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Sept. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Motivated by the acutely malfunctioning American economic and political system, author Franz Grueter weaves a powerful satire about how a common yet ingenious man becomes the most powerful man in the world in King Max of America.

Kingsley Max, top salesman of a printing company, has a disturbing nightmare about the nation turning into an ugly beast devouring itself -- and he's next! The following morning, Max announces to his wife: "Maggie, I'm going to run for president of the United States of America."

Max's unpretentious and visionary political campaign quickly sparks the interest of the American people, and eventually, the news media. Up against the "Big Boys," and against all odds, he wins the race for the White House. Max, a true maverick president, in the short span of his first term presidency, boldly and pragmatically vanquishes the ugly beast of America's dysfunctional society. He solves the crisis in the economy, energy, healthcare, education, immigration, and the war in Iraq. The balance between "we the people" and the government is established once more, and the nightmare of corrupt government and social injustice is defeated.
