American Alliance Training Network Corp. of Madison Mississippi Leads Lean 5S Training Workshop to Kaizen for Reckitt Benckiser Inc. of Brandon Mississippi


MADISON, Miss., Sept. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- September 8th through September 11th, 2008 Reckitt Benckiser, Inc. of Brandon Mississippi hosted an onsite, four day training workshop to Kaizen event with emphasis on 5S concepts of Toyota's Lean methods of sort, straighten, sweep, standardize and sustain to application. The workshop was conducted by the American Alliance Training Network Corporation of Madison, Mississippi in conjunction with funding from the Hinds Community College workforce development located in Raymond Mississippi.

Reckitt Benckiser identified one of their manufacturing lines and related logistic & maintenance staging areas as the target to implement the concepts and perform the event.

Once the half day in-depth introduction to the concepts was completed it was time to go to work.

Over the next 3 days, the Reckitt Benckiser team, under the direction of the American Alliance Training Network, transformed a once disorganized and difficult targeted area into the standard emphasized by the Toyota lean 5S concepts.

At the end of the event the Reckitt Benckiser Kaizen team presented Management with the transformation which included before and after results that were astonishing even to the event team.

David Burt, Reckitt Benckiser Continuous Improvement Engineer stated, "This created the momentum for us to get the rest of the plant done since they see what can be accomplished." Mr. Burt further stated "It was very informative and 5S doesn't just mean cleaning, but will also make a place more effective as well as efficient."
