NCC to build part of Citybanan for SEK 1,500 million

NCC Construction Sverige has been commissioned to build the Norrström Tunnel,
the section of Citybanan between Riddarholmen and Gamla Brogatan north of
Stockholm Central Station. The project includes the construction of a new
station under the T-Centralen subway station and is one of the largest
undertaken in Stockholm in several years. The client is the Swedish Rail
Administration and the order value is about SEK 1,500 million.

The project includes the construction of City Station, a new commuter train
station that will be located under T-Centralen and the subway system's blue
lines, and connecting tunnels from Riddarholmen. The station will comprise two
station tunnels, two platforms and four tracks. It will be situated 40 meters
underground. The project will also include three street-level entrances and
connections to all three subway lines.

- We are very pleased that the Swedish Rail Administration has commissioned us
to build the Norrström Tunnel, says Svante Hagman, regional manager
Stockholm/Mälardalen at NCC Construction.
- We have technically capable, competent employees and previous experience from
such similar projects as the Singapore subway system, the Norrortsleden
expressway and the Citytunnel in Malmö.

The work will be carried out using a new cooperative model in which the Swedish
Rail Administration and NCC will jointly develop technical production solutions.
The project will be carried out in teams and with a jointly established target
cost.

- This work method fits well with our goal of working cooperatively and with our
partnering model. There are many benefits; for example, it creates a shared
incentive to adhere to budgets and timetables, says Svante Hagman.

Citybanan is a double-track railway with two new stations that is to be built in
a tunnel that will be approximately six kilometers long and will connect the
Stockholm South commuter train station with Tomteboda. When Citybanan is
complete, it will double the capacity of rail services through Stockholm. It
will also have an impact on rail traffic to the rest of Sweden. The two
stations, City and Odenplan, will be important hubs.

Construction will begin immediately, and NCC´s part of the project will be
completed in 2015. At most, it will employ about 150 people. The order value
will be registered during the third quarter of 2008.
