Surviving An Adventure Into Hell That is WAR--New Memoir Tells the Author's Fascinating True Account As a Young Soldier Caught in WWII

BUNNELL, Fla., Sept. 29, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It all began on December 7, 1941, when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. This event became the catalyst for the United States to become involved in the Second World War. Author James David Leek invites you on a trip down memory lane as he shares his personal story as a soldier in WWII in his autobiographical book, Almost A Gentleman.

Almost A Gentleman tells the fascinating true account of the author as a lone teenaged soldier coping with the fears, joys, sadness and surprises that he met along the way. It dwells on the tunnel vision of a battlefield wherein he vividly recounts a view of the distance between himself and the enemy ahead. Life during war was hard, but little side trips and adventures made the going a little bit easier. Leek also shares a few accounts of his early life and family before going to war. Though this memoir only tells a small part of the whole story of WWII, he hopes that it reflects on the tremendous respect he had for his fellow soldiers as they lived and died during this adventure into Hell called WAR.
