British Airways to Move Atlanta-London Flights to Heathrow Airport

ATLANTA, Oct. 7, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- British Airways announced today it will move its Atlanta originating flights to London Heathrow Airport from London Gatwick Airport starting Sunday, March 29, 2009.

The move to Heathrow, made possible through the Open Skies agreement signed last March between the USA and European Union, will provide Atlanta passengers the experience of arriving, departing or connecting through Heathrow's Terminal 5, the newest and most technologically advanced airline terminal in Europe.

In addition, Terminal 5 boasts a myriad of shops and restaurants plus the exclusive Galleries Lounges for premium customers. For customers making connections through Terminal 5, the facility provides a convenient transit to other British Airways destinations on the carrier's global network.

British Airways operates a daily evening B777 flight from Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport to London that arrives the following morning. Return westbound flights from London depart in the early afternoon and arrive back at Atlanta the same afternoon.

British Airways aircraft operate in a four-class configuration: First, Club World (business class), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and World Traveller economy class.

Flight schedules, fares, reservations and British Airways Holidays information may be obtained from any travel local agent, by calling the airline at its toll-free number, 1 800 AIRWAYS or by visiting the airline's website at www.ba.com
