Component Changes Made to Dow Jones STOXX Global Select Dividend Index


ZURICH, Switzerland, Oct. 9, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- STOXX Ltd., the leading provider of European equity indexes, today announced changes in the Dow Jones STOXX Global Select Dividend 100 Index.

All changes will be effective as of the opening of trading on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

Synovus Financial Corp. (United States, Banks, SNV) will be deleted from the Dow Jones STOXX Global Select Dividend 100 Index and replaced by Pfizer Inc (United States, Health Care, PFE). Synovus Financial Corp. is being removed due to a decrease in its dividend payment. The company's new lower yield does not meet index eligibility requirements.
