Xlibris Releases The Quest Book I: The Roots of Evil -- New Novel Begins An Epic Saga of War Set in the Fantasy Worlds of Arcainia, Kuberica and Medieval China

MANVEL, Texas, Oct. 9, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The power of love and the strength of family can withstand the threat of evil. This is the theme that drives an astonishing saga of war and magic as Xlibris, a leading print-on-demand online book self-publishing company, proudly announces the release of The Quest Book I: The Roots of Evil, the compelling new novel featuring the imagination of author J.A. Flores.

Set in the fantasy world of Arcainia and Kuberica, the text introduces to readers Grand General Kain Viccon and his teenaged sister Nancy. Together, they start a quest to hunt down Noknor, a ruthless wizard who killed their parents. Noknor has armed himself with an army and a talisman that gives him nearly limitless power as he conquests for control of the Five Kingdoms of the Old World. Problems are compounded when the evil wizard kidnaps the Viccons' half-cousin Li, a beautiful warrior from the land of China with her own vendetta against a vile mercenary that killed her best friend and betrayed her lover on the battlefield. Only the Elemental Sword is powerful enough to stand up to Noknor's cruel fury, but to get it, Kain must go before the Ladies of the Elements. Just finding the four Faery Queens is an adventure, as Kain and Nancy trek through the haunted Forest of Souls, brave Dismal Swamp, save the City of Hurst from a criminal gang and much more. Will he be able to find them in time to rescue Li before she meets a gruesome fate at Noknor's vile hands, or will this adventure be their last? Read the book to find out.
