The consolidated unaudited revenues of Tallinna Kaubamaja Group for the first nine months of the 2008 were 4.7 billion kroons (301.5 million euros). Revenues for comparable period in last year were 4.2 billion kroons (267.2 million euros). The sales increased by 13%. The sales of A-Selver for 9 months of 2008 were 3.0 billion kroons (194.7 million euros), growing 14 per cent over the same period last year. The sales for comparable period in last year were 2.7 billion kroons (171.2 million euros). The average monthly sales per square meter of sales area for 9 months of 2008 were 6.8 thousand kroons, showing 8 per cent decrease over the last year. Average monthly sales per square meter of sales area for stores being opened from 2007 were 7.3 thousand kroons showing only 1 per cent decline due to interruptions on reconstruction period. Average monthly sales per square meter of sales area for directly comparable stores operating without changes increased 6.6 per cent. Efficiency was also negatively affected by results of new stores since in start-up period the efficiency in new stores is generally lower. In 2008 seven new stores were opened and sales area was expanded in four existing stores. Total sales area increased by 18 437 square meters and the average sales area of 9 months grew by 23%. During 9 months of 2008 the number of purchases amounted to 20.7 million, showing 7 per cent increase over the last year. The sales in department stores business segment for first 9 months of 2008 were 1 098.2 million kroons (70.2 million euros), increased by 4 per cent over the same period last year. The average monthly sales per square meter of sales area for the nine months of 2008 were 5.3 thousand kroons per month; this is 4 per cent more than in the same period last year. The sales in real estate business segment for 9 months of 2008 were 31.1 million kroons (2.0 million euros), increasing by 3 per cent to comparable period last year. Automotive business segment sales for the first nine months of 2008 were 437.0 million kroons (27.9 million euros), growing 5 per cent over last year. Within first nine months more of less expensive cars were sold. In all, 1719 new cars were sold, which is 113 units more than the year before. In April, Tallinna Kaubamaja group entered into footwear retailing, the sales of which were incorporated 104.1 million kroons (6.7 million euros) until the end of September. First the Suurtüki NK footwear shops chain with 17 Suurtüki and 1 Stepper shops in Estonia and 2 Stepper shops in Latvia was acquired. Since 1 July 2008 the group includes ABC King AS group with OÜ ABC Saare footwear shops. Currently there are 10 ABC King and 1 NERO shops in Estonia. 2 new shops were opened in the third quarter - in August in Tartu Tasku Center and in September in Rakvere in Põhjakeskus.
