Advertisement and Communications Department of NORVIK BANKA received following
questions for BNS (Baltic News Service): “How the situation in Iceland affects
the operations of Bank? Does the bank feel the influence form the events in
Iceland?  Does the NORVIK BANKA meet the problems through the main shareholder
“Straumborg”?” 

The answer of the Bank: 

NORVIK BANKA is Latvian - Icelandic enterprise. The major part of Bank's equity
is held by the Icelandic entrepreneurs, but approximately 40% - by the Latvian
entrepreneurs. Yet, NORVIK BANKA is self-sufficient company with attracted
capital from Iceland, not the subsidiary company of some Icelandic enterprise.
Accordingly, crisis, affected economics of Iceland, doesn't make any threats on
the stability and reliability of NORVIK BANKA. 

Even more, NORVIK BANKA wasn't involved in any investments into securities of
USA's and Icelandic banks.
