Learn About the History and Rifts Between Blacks and Technology -- New Book Takes a Close Examination as to Why Blacks Disproportionately Suffer From Poor Health and Inadequate Healthcare Treatment

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Is technology against blacks, or are blacks against technology? Either way, blacks need to be identified with science or technology-oriented products before they can overcome the current frustrating and shameful economic poverty facing a large portion of their population. An engaging discussion all began when Xlibris released Blacks and Technology Volume II: The Shift of Economic Power to Blacks in the Twenty-first Century, a new book authored by Raymond L. Chukwu.

Blacks and Technology Volume II offers readers an intriguing discussion about race, technology, health and history as it takes a serious look at the factors behind the poor quality medical treatments and limited scientific and technological skills among blacks all over the world, specifically in America. It reveals that the existing systems of medicine can be considered empirical as they were based on a considerable amount of knowledge accumulated through the application of scientific method, individual observations and the formulation of hypotheses followed by experimentation. It also examines Africa's historical role in providing other nations with medical remedies and extracts from plants and other sources still in use today. Accordingly, black Africans were able to develop and introduce remarkable new drugs or treatment against many diseases from plants and special healing herbs, long before colonization took place. As a result, colonization seriously disrupted the miraculous success of Africans and changed dramatically the dynamics of the overall equation of unconventional and traditional treatments with native African plants.
