18-Year-Old Michigan Woman Saved as Police Use TASER Device to Subdue Her From Injuring Herself With a Knife

According to an article in the October 20, 2008 edition of the Detroit Free Press entitled, "Milford High student holds knife to teacher's throat," a former student who is 18-years-old threatened the life of a teacher with a knife and then threatened to injure herself. A deputy from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office used his TASER(r) ECD to safely prevent the former student from taking her own life.

The teacher was unharmed and the student was taken to the hospital for mental evaluation.
