Xlibris Releases The Rabonian Tragedies -- New Novel Tells An Epic Saga of Government Corruption, Power and Privilege

CAMBRIA HEIGHTS, N.Y., Oct. 21, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Corruption is a long lasting disease of not only civilization but also of the human spirit. Xlibris, a leading print-on-demand online book self-publishing company, announces today the release of The Rabonian Tragedies, an epic novel of power, corruption and privilege written by author Ron A. Bonnick.

The story begins with a young man who appears headed for greatness. After starting well as an engineer, he enters politics where he suffers an early tragedy by being sent to jail on corruption charges. After his release, he makes a stunning comeback in the political arena when he wins a parliamentary seat and becomes a minister-in-charge of public works.

On every project he's given, he collects bribes. Unable to put all the dirty money into a bank, the corrupt minister confides in his friend, Thomas Barrett, who uses the money to buy trucks and cattle-rich farm properties. Some of the money is given to his two daughters overseas, only to be lost. A series of tragedies begins to unfold and only time will tell what will happen to the corrupt minister. Has he met his doom at last?

Richly layered and dramatic, The Rabonian Tragedies emphasizes how politicians and other public figures can conspire to rob a country of its resources and how retribution is swift to intercede. The epic story shows that truth and honesty are still the hallmarks of decent citizens. For more information on Ron A. Bonnick's captivating book, log on to www.Xlibris.com.
