About the Author

Janet Carr was born Janet Lorraine Lindsay in the city of Lebanon, N.H. When she was one-and-a-half years old, her parents divorced and all six children were taken and placed in orphanages and foster care. When Janet would volunteer to help clean the different rooms, she would daydream and then go back to the other girls and tell them the stories. She found that when she told stories, she had the undivided attention of her listeners. She also found it not only passed the time away, but found a way of letting the girls forget, even for a short time, just how lonely they were. When she experienced floating out of her body one day in school, Janet didn't know what to make of it. She thought it was because she was telling stories. It wasn't until many years later that this experience was explained that she started to share it with many other people who had had similar experiences. Janet would like everyone who reads this book to enjoy it and let the child within guide your mind to the fantasy of make-believe.
