In an attempt to better ascertain its nature, author Andreas Daniel Fogg presents Getting Past "The End of History:" Reflections from a Bottom Rung of the Corporate System, a provocative book that delves into some of society's and humanity's greater problems.
This book represents a year's (the year 2000) segment of ongoing intellectual work regarding a series of intellectual, economic and sociological difficulties. The diary addresses a broad range of topics including psychological roots of war as homophobic attacks, theistic versus secular boot-strapping of legal systems and ideas, repression and numbing stemming from addiction to television-watching that may contribute to acts of (suicidal) terrorism, and the trade deficit modifying the composition of the "power elite" and perhaps bankrupting the country. There is also a discussion of sales and value-added taxes being imposed on "the corporate seller" rather than the buyer in an effort to control inflation and raise needed governmental funds, the advantages and drawbacks of increasing the money supply significantly by printing needed money, the discrepancies between male and female pay and who asks whom out for a date, television's effects upon childhood sexuality and subsequent socialization (growing up) end results, the natural versus artificially inseminated family and other interesting topics including the roots of racist and other discriminations.
As in some mathematical proofs, the thought is to "show the work." The work is ongoing and has continued through the present. Subsequent volumes of the diary will be offered for publication. Fogg believes that by ascertaining and understanding this collective self-destructive human dimension (without engaging in adolescent yet adult games of "nuclear or wmd chicken"), readers may be better able to help humanity avoid large-scale self-destructive disasters. Reading either or both of these books may be the equivalent of a prolonged long, hard but pleasurable climb and the results, it is suggested, will be worth the effort.

Andreas Daniel Fogg voluntarily admitted himself into a psychiatric hospital shortly after entering graduate school in Anthropology in an attempt to access psychiatric help and -- through participant observation research -- ascertain more about total institutions like psychiatric hospitals as well as the nature of the psychological and other roots of human self-destructiveness the understanding of which he continues to hope might help humanity avoid additional and unnecessary large-scale self-destructive disasters.
