Grasbrunn (near Munich), October 30, 2008 – In the third quarter of 2008,
Wirecard AG once again succeeded in boosting its sales revenues and
earnings substantially.

According to preliminary figures, Group sales revenues within the first
nine months of 2008 amounted to EUR 141.1 million, compared with EUR 93.8
million in the previous-year period, which corresponds to an increase of
approximately 50 percent. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were
boosted by 56 percent, from EUR 22.6 million to EUR 35.2 million.

Preliminary Group sales revenues in the third quarter of 2008 amounted to
EUR 52.8 million (Q3 2007: EUR 37.3 million). The preliminary operating
result (EBIT) compared with the previous quarter rose from EUR 9.3 million
to EUR 13.0 million. The operating result includes non-recurring and
extraordinary expenses that arose in the third quarter. These amounted to
approx. EUR 1 million for additional legal and consultancy costs as well as
the special expert opinion commissioned.

The positive trend of operations regarding electronic payment processing
and risk management services continued in the third quarter of 2008. The
shift of consumption from the offline to the online world yields savings
potential both for merchants and consumers. The trend in the direction of
non-strategic business processes, such as payment processing, is also
consistent even in difficult cyclical phases.

Accordingly, the Management Board of Wirecard AG affirms its forecast of
raising EBIT by 45 to 60 percent for fiscal 2008.
