Direct Pet to Acquire Manufacturing, Distribution Rights for NapLap Pet Beds

DALLAS, Oct. 30, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Direct Pet Health Holdings, Inc. (Pink Sheets:DPHG) reported today that it has taken the first step in acquiring the manufacturing and domestic and international distribution rights for NapLap(TM) pet beds from Sarge & Company, Inc., of Lakewood, Colorado. Completion of the acquisition is expected next month.

For an undisclosed sum, Direct Pet Health has already purchased and completed the sale of the existing inventory of the product. Upon completion of the acquisition, the company will also obtain the web site, print ads and other marketing materials.

"Direct Pet Health expects NapLap to provide a significant revenue stream at both the wholesale and retail levels in the coming year," said Chairman & CEO Michael F. Scaccia. "It was featured on Good Morning America as one of the top 10 innovative pet products, and was a finalist on an episode of American Innovator."

The NapLap, which measures 18" by 24", is made of denim, and has the appearance of a stuffed pair of jeans, simulating the comfort and security of a pet owner's own lap. The therapeutic bed is washable, with a removable liner. Meant for cats and dogs, its pockets can contain products such as catnip or dog treats.
