Raisio plc, Stock exchange release 3 November 2008 HANDLING OF THE TAXATION ON RAISIO'S SALES PROFIT TO CONTINUE Handling of the taxation of Raisio's sales profit from the divestment of Raisio Chemicals in 2004 will continue. The Tax Administration's Tax Recipients' Legal Services Unit has announced it has filed for leave to appeal and submitted an appeal regarding the decision of the Helsinki Administrative Court to the Supreme Administrative Court. Since the divestment, Raisio has considered the sales profit to be free of tax and has handled the sales profit accordingly in its accounting. This was also the opinion of the Tax Office for Major Corporations in regular taxation, and a view subsequently shared by the Assessment Adjustment Board and, most recently, the Helsinki Administrative Court in its resolution in August 2008; in other words all three considered the sales profit of approximately EUR 220 million to be free of tax.
