According to non-audited consolidated data, during the 3rd quarter of the year 2008 Utenos Trikotažas AB earned LTL 0.4 million (EUR 0.1 million) of pre-tax profit. During the same period in the last year the Company experienced LTL 3.6 million (1,04 mln.EUR) of pre-tax loss. During the 3rd quarter of the current year the non-audited consolidated sales of the Company amounted to LTL 23.4 million (EUR 6.8 million). Comparing to the same period of the year 2007 the consolidated turnover amounted to LTL 31.5 million (EUR 9.1 million). This year the sales of production decreased by 26 percent. According to the General Manager of Utenos Trikotažas AB, Mr Nerijus Vilūnas, the plan of actions implemented by the Company by reducing expenditure and management body of the Company, managing efficiently the resources and adapting production processes to decreased sales volumes is already having effect. “The situation of the recent months shows that the Company can be stable even if the sales volumes are less than it was usual in the recent years. The Company's strengths are its flexibility, quality, reliability and long-lasting cooperation with the major customers of the Company.” Optimized expenditure and stabilized sales volumes allow expecting similar result in the last quarter of the current year as well. During 9 months of the current year the total non-audited consolidated turnover of the Company amounted to LTL 82.7 million (EUR 24.0 million), i.e. 20.6 percent less than during the same period in the last year. The non-audited consolidated profit received during the third quarter reduced the non-audited consolidated pre-tax loss experienced during the first half of the year by Utenos Trikotažas AB down to LTL 5.6 million (1,6 mln.
