Carlsberg UK today announced a proposal to close their Leeds brewery in 2011.
Carlsberg UK needs to maximize efficiency in order to remain competitive in the
face of increasingly challenging market conditions resulting from input
inflation, higher duties and regulatory pressure. The announcement follows a
detailed year-long review of the supply chain.
Consultation with the 170 employees affected will begin immediately.
