Northrop Grumman Awarded Operations, Planning, Training and Resource Support Services Task Order


HERNDON, Va., Nov. 6, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Army has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) an Operations, Planning, Training and Resource Support Services (OPTARSS) task order to provide simulated Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) training at Army Combat Training Centers in Fort Irwin, Calif., Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Fort Polk, La., and Hohenfels, Germany.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity task order is worth more than $8 million over two years.

The Northrop Grumman team, which includes Arlington, Va.-based ISD International, is responsible for providing specially-qualified subject matter experts to replicate PRT personnel embedded into Army Brigade Combat Teams during mission rehearsal exercises.

"The realistic training environments our team will create for our nation's warfighters will prepare them to deploy in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom," said Jerry Bradford Northrop Grumman Technical Services' program manager for the task order. "Northrop Grumman's experience will help positively impact cooperation and coordination between government agencies fighting and winning the war on terror by providing simulated PRTs during live training events."
