About the Author

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jose A. Rivera completed a bachelor's degree at Yale University, a master's degree at the University of Puerto Rico, and a doctorate in philosophy at The Catholic University of America. His doctoral dissertation explored "Political Autonomy and the Good in the Thought of Yves R. Simon and Luis Munoz Marin."

Professor Rivera teaches philosophy at the University of the Sacred Heart in San Juan. He has written four books, The Political Thought of Luis Munoz Marin, Meditaciones munocistas, Nuevo enfoque del bien y del mal and Asi hablo Socrates and several articles in philosophical theology, ethics, and political philosophy.
