The Dutch 'Autoriteit Financiele Markten' AFM has informed SMARTRAC on
November 4, 2008 as follows.

Deutsche Bank AG has informed the AFM on November 3, 2008, that the voting
rights of Deutsche Bank AG in SMARTRAC N.V., ISIN: NL0000186633, WKN:
A0JEHN, indirectly held by DWS Investment GmbH have fallen below the
threshold of 5 percent. Deutsche Bank AG currently holds indirectly via DWS
Investment GmbH 4.77 percent of the voting rights in SMARTRAC N.V. (this
corresponds to 634,950 voting rights).
