Lysaker, 12 November 2008

Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE):

Low inflow to Norwegian reservoirs
Last week the inflow to Norwegian reservoirs was below normal for the first time since week 40. The inflow was 1.5 TWh, or 80 percent of normal inflow. So far, this year inflow has been approximately 122 TWh, or 10 TWh more than normal.

Low inflow contributed to a decrease in the Norwegian reservoir levels by 1.8 percentage points in week 45. At the end of the week the reservoir level was 83.0 percent. That is 3.7 percentage points less than normal.

As for week 44 the differences between Norwegian spot prices decreased. The weakly average spot price was 45 øre/kWh in Southern Norway, and 48 øre/kWh in Middle and Northern Norway.
