Rex Energy Corporation Names Bernard J. Ulincy as Vice President, Land Manager


STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Nov. 14, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rex Energy Corporation ("Rex Energy") (Nasdaq:REXX) announced today that it has named Bernard ("Bernie") J. Ulincy as Vice President, Land Manager.

Mr. Ulincy is a veteran in lease acquisition and land management with almost 30 years of experience. Reporting directly to Benjamin W. Hulburt, the President and Chief Executive Officer, Bernie will oversee all Rex Energy activities related to the company's mineral interests and other land-related assets and rights.

Mr. Ulincy comes to Rex Energy from El Paso E & P Co. in Houston where he was the Senior Staff Landman. Prior to his El Paso assignment, Bernie worked at Southwestern Energy Company, where he served as Staff Landman and oversaw their Fayetteville shale prospects in Arkansas since 2006. Previous to that position, he worked for Fortuna Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc., as Supervisor of Land Acquisition, managing the lease acquisition budget for their Trenton/Black River horizontal drilling efforts in the Appalachian Basin. Mr. Ulincy holds a bachelor's degree in Geography from East Stroudsburg State College and completed post-graduate work in Geography and Geology at Indiana State University.
