Lysaker, 19 November 2008 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): Higher Norwegian power production The Norwegian power production increased by 11 percent from week 46 to 47. The increase may partly be explained by higher power consumption due to colder weather compared to the week before. The decrease of prices in the forward market may also have caused hydro power production to rise. The production increased more than the consumption and this yielded higher Norwegian net export in week 47. Despite that the inflow to the Norwegian hydro reservoirs was 30 percent above normal in week 47, there was a reduction of the Norwegian reservoir level. The reservoir level was 80.8 percent in week 47.
