schlott gruppe sells subsidiary sachsendruck

- Sheet-fed offset unit sachsendruck sold to book-printing specialist
- schlott gruppe continues to focus on web-fed printing

Freudenstadt, November 18, 2008. schlott gruppe has today signed an
agreement to sell its sheet-fed offset subsidiary sachsendruck, Plauen, to
Offizin Andersen Nexö (OAN), Leipzig, effective from October 1, 2008. In
doing so, schlott gruppe will concentrate its future efforts on the
production of catalogues, magazines and supplements for publishing houses
and advertisers within the commercial arena, the emphasis being on gravure
printing, web-fed offset printing and related services within the area of
postpress finishing.

OAN is a company specialising in the end-to-end production of books and
brochures. sachsendruck, with its established strengths in the manufacture
of books and cardboard books, will extend OAN's core competences by a
considerable degree. This in turn is expected to bolster the long-term
prospects of sachsendruck.

sachsendruck achieved value-added sales of around €14 million on the bases
of preliminary figures in the 2007/8 financial year, while schlott gruppe
generated a total of €239.1 million.
The effects of the sachsendruck sale on the financial situation and results
of schlott gruppe will be presented on the balance sheet press conference
and the analyst conference of schlott gruppe on January 28, 2009.

Notes to financial data:
Alongside 'revenue/sales', schlott gruppe uses so-called 'value-added
sales' as a financial indicator – both in its external communications and
as part of its internal controlling mechanisms. Revenue is subject to
fluctuations that are beyond the company’s sphere of influence. These
fluctuations are attributable to the volume of paper supplied by customers
as raw material for certain projects: in contrast to paper purchased
directly by the company, paper supplied by customers is not included in the
accounts of schlott gruppe. In the 2007/8 financial year, the so-called
paper provision ratio was 72.0 per cent. As a financial indicator,
'value-added sales' eliminates fluctuations relating to paper supplied by
customers, thus reflecting the actual business performance.
