With the prize for 'Germanys Most Sustainable Production' and the nomination as 'Germanys Most Sustainable Brand' the solar power technology group will be the only company to receive an award in two categories simultaneously. The award will be under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Horst Köhler, and will be officially presented on the German Sustainability Day on 5 December 2008. In awarding the prize the jury paid tribute to SolarWorld AGs consistent focus on sustainable products, sustainable production and sustainable commitment. Frank H. All in all, 350 companies participated in the competition among them half the DAX 30 companies. The organizers include the Council for Sustainable Development, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Assessment Research and the Wuppertal Institute. The jury was made up of 15 experts, among them the former Director of the UN Environmental Program and Federal Minister of the Environment, Prof. Klaus Töpfer, the Head of the Potsdam Institute, Prof. H. J. Schellnhuber, and the Head of the Council for Sustainable Development, Dr. Volker Hauff.
