Auburn National Bancorporation, Inc. Elects Not to Participate in TARP


AUBURN, Ala., Nov. 21, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Auburn National Bancorporation, Inc. (Nasdaq:AUBN) announced today that it did not apply for funds available through the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Capital Purchase Program, part of the federal government's Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP).

"After a thorough evaluation, our board of directors and senior management decided that we would not participate in the Treasury's Capital Purchase Program," said E. L. At September 30, 2008, Auburn National Bancorporation's Tier 1 Leverage ratio was 8.87%, Tier 1 Risk-Based Capital ratio was 14.54%, and Total Risk-Based Capital ratio was 15.50%, well above current regulatory requirements.
