Major LKAB deal to Cramo

The Swedish mining group LKAB recently announced its EUR 1.2 billion investment
in a new mining level in Kiruna (KUJ 1365). Subsequently Cramo and LKAB have
signed a contract, which makes Cramo the main rental supplier of construction
machinery, access equipment, modular space and related site services. The
minimum order value is estimated to be 15 MEUR over a four year period, with a
possibility for extensions and prolongation.

“This prestigious initial order is one of the largest ever in the Nordic rental
industry” says Cramo's CEO Vesa Koivula in a comment. “Fundamentally, it is
based on Cramo's almost unique capability to deliver everything that is needed
in terms of site infrastructure services in a huge work place like KUJ 1365. But
it is also the fruit of the good relationship that has developed between LKAB
and Cramo's Swedish operations in earlier projects like KK4 and KA3 in Kiruna”.

“From our perspective the supplier selection is a question of credibility. We
know Cramo well, and very few rental companies have the capacity needed to
supply everything we need in a project like this. Using numerous suppliers was
never an alternative from an administrative point of view”, says Ulf Gräsvik,
project manager LKAB.

On the site Cramo will deliver site offices, dining rooms, conference rooms,
locker rooms, sanitary facilities and storage facilities. The agreement also
includes facility management services like, transportation services, cleaning,
furniture, AV equipment, phone and IT connections etc.

Cramo's commitment also includes the delivery of all tools, construction
machinery, access equipment, scaffolding and other necessary equipment. To
facilitate the access to the equipment Cramo will open a project depot at level
1365 - probably the first underground depot in history - which will also carry
accessories and commodities related to the rental equipment.

“I am very proud that LKAB selected us for this project”, says Erik Bengtsson,
Managing Director for Cramo's Swedish operations. “The intensity in the
construction work will peak during the initial 4-5 years. But our experience is
that giant projects like this one will generate more business over time”.
