On November 2008 "Trasta komercbanka" repaid the syndicated loan to seven European banks in the amount of EUR 16 million. The loan was arranged by Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG in 2007. At present, "Trasta komercbanka" does not have any outstanding syndicated loans. In the current economic situation a syndicated loan repayment is reputed as a positive message, confirming bank abilities to plan its activities effectively, to be maximally independent of externals and decisions of lenders about loans renewal. Trasta Komercbanka is one of the oldest private banks of Latvia, which has been successful in the Latvian financial market since 1989, taking stable and highly profitable positions of a medium-sized credit institution. The Bank has representative offices in Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Canada, Bulgaria and a foreign branch in Cyprus. By the end of Quarter 3 of 2008 TKB remained a leader in the Latvian financial market according to the figures of its profitability. Based on the data of the Association of Commercial Banks of Latvia, at the end of September the return on equity (ROE) of Trasta Komercbanka was 31.81% which is the best result among Latvian banks, but its return of assets (ROA) was 3.74%, which is the second best figure.
