In accordance with sec. 21 sub-section 1 of the WpHG we have received on
December 9th, 2008 the following notification from William Blair & Company,
LLC, Chicago, Illinois, USA, in its name and on its behalf:

We hereby give notice, pursuant to Section 21 (1) WpHG, that on 8 December
2008 our voting interest in Roth & Rau AG fell below the threshold of 3%
and amounts to 2.63% (362,533 voting rights) on this day.

All of the above mentioned voting rights are attributable to William Blair& Company, LLC in accordance with Section 22, paragraph 1, sentence 1,
number 6, WpHG.
