Successful sponsorship project sails to the finish line After six successful years, HiQ is bringing to an end its HiQ Sailing Team project and its partnership with Whyshore. The decision was taken by mutual agreement and is based on different goals for the HiQ Sailing Team project in the future. HiQ Sailing Team, the well-known 60-foot trimaran and one of the fastest sailing boats in the world, has broken a number of records through the years. Among the most spectacular were the events of December 2006, when HiQ Sailing Team sailed around Gotland in a new record time of 17 hours 39 minutes - at an average speed of nearly 21 knots! “We have had a very good partnership with Whyshore and HiQ Sailing Team for six successful years. The trimaran has broken a number of records, offered our clients and staff fantastic experiences and contributed greatly to building internal pride and to gaining us attention. We have decided to bow out at the top and I hope that we will carry out other projects with Whyshore in the future. But HiQ Sailing Team has reached the finish for now,” says Lars Stugemo, President and CEO of HiQ. “We have had six fantastic years with HiQ Sailing Team during which, together with HiQ, we rewrote the record books. Whyshore has a new crew with new management and owners. Going forward we will focus on new competitions and goals at the local and international arena. HiQ Sailing Team has been one of the most successful Scandinavian projects with Swedish support,” says Klabbe Nylöf, Managing Director of Whyshore.
