Semi-Annual Changes to the NASDAQ Q-50 Index


NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced today the results of the quarterly reranking of the NASDAQ Q-50 Index(sm) (Nasdaq:NXTQ), which will become effective with the market open on Monday, December 22, 2008.

The following twenty-one securities will be added to the Index: ASML Holding N.V. (Nasdaq:ASML), Atmel Corporation (Nasdaq:ATML), Immucor, Inc. (Nasdaq:BLUD), Discovery Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:DISCK), LM Ericsson Telephone Company (Nasdaq:ERIC), F5 Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:FFIV), Leap Wireless International, Inc. (Nasdaq:LEAP), Lincare Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq:LNCR), Landstar System, Inc. (Nasdaq:LSTR), Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), National Instruments Corporation (Nasdaq:NATI), PetSmart, Inc. (Nasdaq:PETM), Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq:PLCM), Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:PSYS), Shire plc (Nasdaq:SHPGY), Sina Corporation (Nasdaq:SINA), Silgan Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:SLGN), SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK), UAL Corporation (Nasdaq:UAUA), United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq:UTHR) and Virgin Media Inc. (Nasdaq:VMED).

The Index is designed to track the performance of the 50 securities that are next in line to replace the securities currently included in the NASDAQ-100 Index. (Nasdaq:JBHT), Life Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq:LIFE), O'Reilly Automotive, Inc. (Nasdaq:ORLY), Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc. (Nasdaq:PPDI), Ross Stores, Inc.
