AccessKey IP Files for Canadian and International Patent Protection

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Dec. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AccessKey IP, Inc., (Pink Sheets:AKYI) the developer, designer and producer of advanced entertainment and communication devices, announced today that it has filed for patent protection in Canada as well as filing an international Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) application for its InCharge Inductive Charging Units. This will give the Company the right to file additional foreign patent applications in other key markets around the world. With the PCT application filing, future foreign patent applications can be accorded the same priority date as the earlier US patent applications.

Due to the expanding popularity and sales growth of the Company's InCharge product, AKYI felt the new patent applications were necessary to protect its rights in foreign markets. Mark Kasok, TeknoCreations Vice President of Sales and Marketing, states that, "InCharge has been met with enthusiastic acceptance by the retail markets and I am working on expanding the product distribution as quickly as possible as opportunities arise."

AccessKey IP's Chairman, CEO, George Stevens stated, "The sell through success for these products has exceeded our initial estimates. We feel that it is only prudent to move in a direction that not only makes our products accessible in other countries, but protects them under international patent laws."
