LTX-Credence Introduces New DC and Power Option for X-Series Test Systems

QFVI Offers Enhanced Performance for Advanced Automotive and Power Management Applications

MILPITAS, Calif., Dec. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXC), a global provider of focused, cost-optimized ATE solutions, today announced the addition of its Quad Floating VI (QFVI) option for its X-Series test platform. The QFVI addresses critical requirements for cost effective testing of advanced power management and automotive applications, such as battery charging and management, high side and full bridge switch networks and a broad range of brake, airbag, ignition and motor controllers.

"Over the past several years, we have seen significant growth in the power management and automotive sectors," noted Dave Tacelli, CEO and president of LTX-Credence. "During that time, we have been working closely with leaders in these markets to address current test requirements and to ensure the right test technologies are available for their roadmap devices. The QFVI is a result of these close customer relationships. It is built on the proven X-Series instrumentation our customers have in use today, but incorporates key new features critical to cost effective testing of their most advanced devices."

"The QFVI addresses the advancing high power requirements of leading edge automotive and power management devices, offering such features as four floating VIs on a single card with voltage stacking and current sharing flexibility," added Bruce MacDonald, vice president of marketing for LTX-Credence. "Furthermore, the QFVI's density enables flexible deployment of this instrument to match our customers' specific device requirements and test strategies, enabling cost-optimized testing across a broad range of multisite applications."

About the QFVI

The QFVI is a four-channel floating VI instrument, with full four quadrant operation, continuous current up to 1.5 A, and pulsed current up to 5 A per channel over a range of +/-60 V. It offers internal current sharing to support external connections up to 20 A, and can be stacked up to 240 V for maximum flexibility in a common focused configuration. It provides a programmable auto sequencer, meter per-pin, ripple input, and multiple ranges for accurate DC testing. The QFVI also offers a unique, patent-pending credit system, which allows the user to increase effective pulsed duty cycle up to 100% in certain applications. The QFVI has been deployed at multiple customer sites, and is available for immediate delivery.
