City National Names Michael Dowling to Lead Personal Trust Division


LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced that G. Michael Dowling has joined the company as senior vice president and manager for its personal trust division.

Dowling will oversee all personal trust division activities at City National, including all account administration for trust clients in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, San Diego and Las Vegas.

Dowling brings to the company nearly 30 years of banking experience.

For the past six years, he has served as a division trust executive at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in San Francisco. In addition to overall leadership and management of fiduciary services for a six-state region, he oversaw 72 associates and approximately $24 billion in accounts under management.

From 2000 to 2003, Dowling served as a senior vice president, national trust services executive for Bank of America in Dallas, Texas, where he managed four trust centers located in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and Seattle. From 1996 through 2000 he worked for Nationsbank as a senior vice president and regional market executive. Before that, Dowling worked for various banks in Arkansas.

Dowling is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and also graduated from the U.S. Naval Officer Candidate School. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy in the early 1970s.

Dowling currently serves as treasurer for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, is a board member of The Family House, San Francisco Beautiful and the San Francisco Maritime National Park Assn. He will be relocating to Los Angeles. He is married to Elizabeth Dowling and has one daughter. His hobbies include photography and golf.
