Coping With Sexual Abuse -- New Book Discusses the Treatments of a Problem Most of Us Secretly Suffer

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 26, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a country of three hundred million adults, roughly fifty million are molested. Realize how serious this seemingly overlooked social issue is, and find out how to prevent and treat this lingering experience in DEAR GOD: I HOPE YOU WILL ALWAYS LOVE ME AND FORGIVE ME: The Child Molested; Treating The Aftermath, a poignant book by Nathaniel T. Winston, M.D.

Not many of us are aware of the fact that fifty million American adult women have had at least one experience involving childhood molestation. Such experiences leave an indelible memory that will forever haunt and affect one's life. Many marry, but their sexual lives are greatly affected by their childhood experiences. However, teaching them coping skills will help them obtain greater enjoyment with their marriages and children.

Psychiatrist Nathaniel T. Winston, M.D. shares his 51 years of experience of treating adult women (and occasionally men) whether in an adult inpatient psychiatric facility or an outpatient mental health clinic. The book features true stories of sexual abuse that many can relate to but are just too frightened to share.

DEAR GOD: I HOPE YOU WILL ALWAYS LOVE ME AND FORGIVE ME: The Child Molested; Treating The Aftermath is written in the sincere hope that it will help those who have been violated as children to learn how to cope with the trauma it has caused them throughout their lives. More importantly, the intent of this book is to educate parents of the dangers young children face with a potential sexual molester.
