Terremark to Host NANOG 45

First NANOG Event Outside North America to be Hosted in Dominican Republic

MIAMI, Dec. 30, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq:TMRK), a leading global provider of managed IT infrastructure services, today announced that it will host NANOG 45, the North American Network Operators Group's (NANOG) forum for the exchange of technical information and discussion of network implementation issues. NANOG 45, which will be the first NANOG event held outside North America, will take place January 25-28, 2009 at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo.

NANOG is an education and operations organization that coordinates and disseminates technical information related to backbone/enterprise networking technologies and operational practices. NANOG events are held tri-annually and attract more than 450 Internet network operators, engineers, and software and hardware vendors from throughout the world.

"NANOG 45 is an important forum where global network operators come together to exchange ideas and share the latest technical and operational information affecting networks worldwide," said Betty Burke, Project Manager of Merit Network Inc., the organization that coordinates NANOG meetings. "We are proud to have Terremark as a partner, especially since a major part of their business model is about connectivity and internetworking, which makes the Internet the unmatched communications tool that it is today."

Terremark operates the NAP del Caribe in Santo Domingo, and its staff and NAP del Caribe personnel are working closely with NANOG and Merit to ensure another successful event. Opened in July 2008, the NAP del Caribe provides Terremark's world-class IT infrastructure services to enterprises and government agencies throughout the country.

"We are excited to be the host of NANOG 45 in the Dominican Republic," said Josh Snowhorn, Vice President of Terremark. "Terremark has twice hosted previous NANOG events in Miami, but we are especially looking forward to bringing this group of world-class network operators to the Dominican Republic. Hosting NANOG in the Caribbean provides an opportunity to highlight network issues related to the region and allows exposure to ISP's and Network providers who might not otherwise be able to attend."
