NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2 SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT OF CHANGES IN HOLDINGS IN MARIMEKKO CORPORATION AND RELATED ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE COMPANY BY MUOTITILA

NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2 SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT OF   
CHANGES IN HOLDINGS IN MARIMEKKO CORPORATION AND RELATED ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE    
COMPANY BY MUOTITILA LTD                                                        

Pursuant to Chapter 2 Section 10 of the Securities Market Act, Marimekko        
Corporation (business identity code 0111316-2) hereby announces the receipt of  
notifications of changes in holdings containing the following information:      

The holding of Muotitila Ltd (business identity code 2150336-0), a company      
controlled by Mr Mika Ihamuotila, has fallen below 3/20 of the voting rights of 
Marimekko Corporation, i.e. decreased to 13%. Respectively, the holding of      
Workidea Oy (0790728-9), a company controlled by Mrs Kirsti Paakkanen, has      
reached 1/10 of the voting rights of Marimekko Corporation, i.e. increased to   
10%. The numbers of Marimekko shares owned by Muotitila Ltd and Workidea Oy     
remain unchanged. The changes in holdings relate to the termination of the      
arrangement disclosed on 31 October 2007.                                       

On 31 October 2007, Marimekko Corporation disclosed an arrangement pursuant to  
which Muotitila Ltd was prior to the end of 2008 entitled to acquire 804,000    
shares in Marimekko Corporation held by Workidea Oy. Related notifications of   
changes in holdings were also published on that day. Furthermore, Workidea Oy   
had authorised Muotitila Ltd to vote with the said shares as regards regular    
general meeting matters as of 31 October 2007 until the end of the              
above-mentioned term.                                                           

The right of Muotitila Ltd to acquire the shares in Marimekko Corporation held  
by Workidea Oy expired on 31 December 2008, and Muotitila Ltd has not used its  
right within the term. Accordingly, the arrangement between Muotitila Ltd and   
Workidea Oy, including the authorisation to vote, has automatically terminated. 

Muotitila Ltd has brought to the company's attention that, due to the changes in
the financial market, it has not been able to secure the required financing to  
exercise the purchase option, the price of which was agreed in 2007. Muotitila  
Ltd has also informed the company that it will remain as a significant and      
long-term shareholder of Marimekko.                                             

Pursuant to the notifications, the holdings of Muotitila Ltd and Workidea Oy of 
the shares and voting rights of Marimekko Corporation are as follows:
