alstria office REIT-AG: Main Shareholder Appoints New Trustee


Hamburg, January 5, 2009 – alstria office REIT-AG (symbol: AOX, ISIN:
DE000A0LD2U1), an internally managed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT)
which is solely focused on acquiring, owning and managing office real
estate in Germany, announces today a voting right notification by the new
trustee of its main shareholder Captiva 2 Alstria Holding S.à r.l.

'On December 30, 2008, Mourant Limited, Jersey, Channel Islands has
informed alstria according to Article 21, Section 1 of the WpHG that via
shares its voting rights on alstria office REIT-AG, Hamburg, Deutschland,
ISIN: DE000A0LD2U1, WKN: A0LD2U, have exceeded the 3%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%,
25%, 30% and 50% limit of the voting rights on December 22, 2008  and now
amount to 52.04% (this corresponds to 29,143,501 voting rights).
According to Article 22, Section 1, Sentence 1, No. 1 of the WpHG, 52.04%
of the voting rights (this corresponds to 29,143,501 voting rights) is to
be attributed to the company from Mourant Ireland Limited via Mourant & Co.
Limited.'


alstria would like to point out that Captiva 2 Alstria Holding S.à r.l. has
confirmed today that it is still directly and indirectly holding approx.
61% of alstria’s shares (see press release dated September 8, 2008) and
that it has appointed Mourant Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland, as new
trustee for the majority of its holdings in alstria.

alstria’s compliance with German REIT regulation is unaffected by the
appointment of the new trustee.
