Buffalo Announces New Strategy for Its NAS Division

By Separating Its LinkStation and TeraStation Lines of NAS Devices Between Business Users and Consumers, Buffalo's Varied Customer-Base Can Select the Product That Best Fits Their Individual Needs

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 2009 CES (Booth #: Renaissance Presidential Suite) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions today announced its new NAS strategy -- a clear-cut division between its award-winning consumer and business NAS solutions, making it easier for users to choose and purchase the product that best fits their needs.

The feature-rich, but user-friendly LinkStation storage line will be geared toward consumers and prosumers while the robust, high-capacity TeraStation devices are designed for the SMB market and ideal for storing mission-critical files in a business environment. The consumer-level LinkStation products will come with a one-year warranty while the TeraStation devices will have a three-year warranty.

"With the new distinction, businesses and consumers can more easily differentiate between product lines and find the device that best fits their needs and networking environment," said Ken Higgins, vice president of sales at Buffalo Technology. "Buffalo will continue to build both product lines with the latest technology and further equipping both with features pertaining to individual needs."

Buffalo will announce two new TeraStation devices at CES, including the high-performance TeraStation III with higher capacities and faster transfer rates and the dual-drive TeraStation Duo. For the consumer or prosumer side, Buffalo's latest LinkStation devices include the fully redesigned, sleek LinkStation Pro with remote iPhone accessibility, palm-size but feature-packed LinkStation Mini; the LinkStation Live with a newer, faster processor; and the secure, fully-loaded LinkStation Quad, which offers storage capacities of up to 4TB.

All of Buffalo's LinkStation NAS devices include Buffalo's unique Web Access feature, which allow you to access content stored on the device from anywhere in the world via a simple web browser; SATA hard drives; Network File Sharing; a 10/100/1000 auto-sensing Ethernet Switch and Memeo AutoBackup software. All TeraStation devices include RAID, advanced network file sharing, Quick Swap Removable Hard Drives, status LCD display, a 10/100/1000 auto-sensing Ethernet Switch and a High Tolerance Cooling System.
